An Englishman in contention again in South Africa

In the European tour this week, Matt Ford went into the last day two shots behind the leader, leading the way for the British players at East London GC, South Africa.

Ford makes it three Englishmen in three weeks to be in the last group on the last day.

He could not have expected what happened on the last day thought, with South African Trevor Fisher Jnr hitting at round of eight-under-par under pressure from the rest of the field, which hosted a whole number of Brits this week.

Johannesburg a happy hunting ground for Sullivan

Andy Sullivan made it two out of two wins in Johannesburg this season as he hit a final round of 66 on Sunday in the Joburg Open at The Royal Johannesburg & Kensington GC.

Sullivan’s previous win came in January at the South African Open Championship.
